FPRI’s Wachman Center is pleased to announce a contest for high school students for an essay of between 900 and 1000 words on The top 5 innovations developed in the U.S. since 1945, ranked from #1 to #5. The three winning essays will be posted on our website, and the winners will receive awards of $1,000 each. All entries must be emailed by 5pm Eastern Time Thursday, January 15, 2009. Gone are the days when a think tank could operate with the motto “research it, write it and they will find it”. Today, think tanks must be lean, mean, policy machines. The report that follows summarizes the findings of a pilot project to identify some of the leading think tanks in the world, and provides lists of what might be called the “go to think tanks” in every region.
